I am a scholar and educator in theatre, LGBTQ2+ history, and media studies. I currently teach in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. My research focuses on drag, theatre, and the history of queer representation in popular culture. I hold a PhD in drama, theatre and performance studies, and sexual diversity studies from the University of Toronto.
I have designed and taught courses on the sexual and gender diversity histories, queer theatre and performance studies, LGBTQ2+ community engagement, and the history of drag at The University of Toronto and The University of British Columbia. I also facilitates workshops on post secondary education for graduate students and new course instructors. Outside of academia I has served as a media consultant, a guest speaker at LGBTQ2+ community events, an expert witness in legal, cases and provides equity and diversity training for organizations looking to form meaningful engagements with LGBTQ2+ communities.
I also work as a consultant with nonprofit organizations, journalists, legal teams, and artistic organizations. I am is available for educational consultations, interviews, diversity training, and public talks/events.
